World War ring

My mother came across this ring while looking through my grandparents home. I'm trying to get more information on it. My great grandfather was in WWI and and grandfather was in WWII and we are trying to find out which war it was from. Can anyone help me?















I think the engraving says sterling

It's a army emblem on the ring for sure, probably was WW2 era ring
