When I was a kid I took 2 aluminum rods and cut the end off of an extention cord, peeled the cord apart, taped the ends of the cord to the rods and stuck them in the ground about 3 feet apart. Plug in the cord and it shocked them night crawlers right up to the surface. It worked pretty slick until I got the rods too close together in the ground and blew every fuse in the house. That was the end of my worm shockin' days. (I still remember the whippin' I got too...ouch!)
