Wow! I Don't Believe What I Found on Top of The Dirt Pile!
It was T-shirt weather again here in Northern California! Went out again with my hunting partner Dick. We were walking through the park and Dick noticed some dirt piles that workers had made while putting in some new sprinkler systems. Dick said, "I'm going to fan my coil over it". I walked right by it and let Dick check it out. I was on my way to another dirt pile that was about 50 feet away. When I arrived at my dirt pile I noticed it had yellow tape all around it, so I went back to where Dick was working and turned on my machine. About 5 seconds after turning on my machine I get a strong hit on my detector, it was right on top of the dirt mound! Laying under only 2 or 3 inches of light sandy soil appeared a silver quarter! To my surprise it's a 1920-S Standing Liberty Quarter! I wish they were all this easy! We had about 6 or 7 dirt piles spread out around this part of the park, this was the only coin in any of them! The rest of the day produced a silver nickel for Dick and 2 wheaties. I dug one wheatie and about 4 bucks in clad. I was a great day! Both of went home with some silver!
