but I tried it anyway. Got a half a horse shoe, a couple iron things, and some itty bitty melted camp lead for my suffering. I got several good sounding signals, but even with the 4 inches of rain we got a week ago, the ground was rock hard past 3 inches or so. No fun digging concrete, so I gave up and came home to pick off the ticks and take a shower :(

Don't want to wish away my summer, but I sure wish October would get here :)

Tried it for a while, bunch of clad and 1 wheatie 1944D. Pic is of the Jeep overhead outdoor thermometer. :'( (sweat-not tears) An old city pool that was closed down in the next town.

Wow man, I don't think it got quite that hot here and it still felt like you'd fall over if you didn't take a drink of water. Can't imagine you getting out in that !

the key here was to stay in the shade as much as possible and limit yourself to 1 hour or less. ;) Unfortunately the pool was closed and empty because of a nearby chemical spill from my understanding.

That heat is bad new for someone that works inside in the AC...I work out side and know what its like to have humidity and heat , but just keep drinking those fluids! can't wait till fall!! Good luck in the future........... 8)

I hunted for about 20 minutes today - it was a cool 104 degrees here today - another record day. We have had several HOT days in the last couple of weeks here, and no rain.

Looks like it will be a while before I get to dig at all.

I didn't think about it in time but I could have switched to metric and got a reading of 44* C. ;) LOL

44 celcius sounds a hell of a lot better than 104 farenhiet any day! May sweat just as much but it does sound better! Cool Pic Stoney! Stay in the shade, you are braver than I am............& it was only 98 F here today! ;D

I know the feeling to hot here today to hunt so just went to mission bay park to watch the jet skiers and feel the ocean breeze will try beach hunting tomorrow.

Hey Gang,

I know what you mean. I hunted for about 20 minutes and the sweat poured in my eyes so bad i couldn't see !!

I saw the weather at 7:00 PM and it was still 94 degrees !!

Stay cool,
Mike in SC

I like hunting the beach when it's hot! You got two things to keep you cool... the ocean and the ice cream guy!

AMEN to digging in concrete and to the heat, plus add some humidity. Definitely a stay-indoor day!

Cheers--Luke

It was smoking hot over the weekend here in Kentucky plus the humidity was like it was raining. I still went out most of Sunday. Walk slow and drink a lot of water.

All I have to do is think about these frozen Wisconsin winters and how all I do is moan because I cant go hunt. So the heat wave is really hard to take, but I have to hunt now. Plenty of water, have a clip on mist dispenser that helps and I soak my tshirt in water before I put it on. I have really wild hair ,so I also wet that down and then up in a pony tail. Another neat thing I picked up was a cloth neck ring, that you in the freezer or cold water and then losely hang it around your neck and it keeps cool for for two days .

Or this website had some other great products
