I was out working today and found this on the side of the road. Guess someone must have just chucked it out a car window? Thought it looked old so I looked it up. It's a WW 1 Era German ashtray that was made in France? Found a couple similar trays online that dont have the "Sir De France " on it . I'm assuming it was made in France while the Germans occupied it?

it is in really good condition...
I found my ashtray in the back yard of some british friends whose house used to be a pub...
 
I notice there are alot of detectorist using the equinox 600 lately...I'm looking to get something that goes deeper than my tesoro, is water proof, good for salt, fresh water...
 
Looks like it has the center emblem of a German Army buckle worked in. Could be some kind of souvenir of the war in France. Whatever it is, it looks contemporary and a nice reason to start smoking cigars. :icon_thumleft:
