WW 2 Italian rifle scope

I have this 'LA Filotecnico Milano Italian rifle scope it has the date 8699 on it. All I can find out about it is that it was on Italian rifle and the always sent 3 guys out so at least 1 would bring it and rifle back
Is there anything else anyone know bout it? Like perhaps what its worth
Any help would be appreceated

That was during WW1,a shooter and two spotters,if the shooter got dead the spotters brought the scope back.They used french scopes during that time period.I dont know if you'll find anything in this link but,your main problem is that its in Italian.

Dang I glad u said that. I put wrong # it has 8699. I have a gun with 1947 on it sorry been a long day. Your right that seems to be the biggest issue I have.

No problem,keep searching buddy.I have seen scopes like yours on carcanos.WW2 Italian snipers actions,I believe,were pretty rarely documented.WW1 Italy were allies,hence the french scopes.One thing seems to me though,only an idiot would use a shiny bare metal scope for sniping.Yours isnt the only one Ive seen that was bare metal,and it wasnt the paint or whatever wearing off.

On enlarging the photo, it does seem to have marks, as though someone had shined it up. Maybe the painting technique wasnt so good then.
