That collar disc belonged to a US pilot in the Army Air Corp in WW2.

I don't think the brass was for just a pilot......my father had several of these from his old uniforms and he was a turret/tail gunner on a B-25. I believe anyone on a flight crew could wear these.

i believe this is an enlisted collar disc which would not be a pilot.....
 

I was in the army aviation form 95 to 98 and we wore them on our collars. Yours looks old but i can't put a date on it. Nice find.
