Wyman oddities from the past
I went back to the this park in Baltimore Saturday morning to my first assignment which was to assist a resident locate the sewer clean-out in his front yard. It was a bit of a challenge since his narrow yard is fully landscaped with mature bushes and ivy. Another problem presented with the overhead power lines going up the alley by his lot. Once the F75 stopped responding to the power lines I began the search on my knees beneath the juniper bush. In short order a likely target was identified and we dug down one foot to find the clean-out cap, a big brass target, easily found with the detector. It turned out to be even a better win-win than anticipated since the homeowner insisted on giving me gas money for the effort!
With that job done I headed across the street to the park and fought with the surface and deep trash signals to "eke out" some hard fought finds: wheats from 1919, 1920 and 1945, a harmonica reed, an old brass clothes buckle, and a mystery brass object that I think may have been mounted to a window frame to hold one end of a window shutter. What are your thoughts on the unknown?
