X terra 705 and 705 gold opinions

Hi,
I'm going to be buying another detector soon and I'm interested in a X terra 705 or 705 Gold. Currently I use a White's and have been for 5 years and I'm not impressed with it at all. Other detectorists detecting with me using X terras are doing much, much better. They are finding more items and at deeper depths. They make it look almost too easy. So, what are your opinions on these 2 X terras both positive and negative? What difference does the different coil on the Gold machine make? I detect in parks, in woods and, in yards. I'm no where near a beach and I'm looking for coins and relics. The ground I detect in is pretty nice meaning that it's not very mineralized. The 705 does have a manual groung balance on it, right?

Hi Mark!

Great machines. Very versatile! Not on does it have a ground balance but auto tracking as well. You can change the coil and change the frequency of the machine. Tons of cool features!

If your ground is good and for what and where you'll be hunting, I think I'd get the standard Xterra 705 with the concentric coil and later add the 10.5" DD coil of your frequency choice to go deeper and/or the 6" coil for trash separation. JMHO.

I picked up a X-Terra 705 Gold Pac at Cabela's tonight it was in the Bargain Cave and I got a great price on it, wasn't going to buy the gold pac but it was such a great deal I couldn't pass it up, I will get me another coil for coins in time ..........

You have done fine ! And you can buy some of the other coils that will work with this machine. And I really like the 705 . It does well and is easy to use and goes as deep as any of the others out . I fact I was surprised at how deep I have found targets in the ground !
Get you a larger coil that is 7.5 Khz DD and get the 3 khz coil the 9inch . You will be able to do well any type of detecting you would want to do. And yes you can ground balance manually if you wish , but after testing this I found that the auto balance just very well so unless you just want to do it that way you can just use the auto version .

I've had my X-terra 705 since 2 months after they came out on the market. My question is, anyone buy the coil-tech 15 inch 7.5 khz yet, and how do you like it? certainly hope they are going to make the low and high freq., as well.
