I just pulled the trigger and upgraded to a Minelab X-terra 750 after running the Ace 250 for about 2 years. I have great expectations with this upgrade and would like to know what guys think as far as how much of an upgrade over the 250 this is and if my expectations are well founded. Thanks for any advice and thoughts in advance.

Well first, Congratulations! :headbang: The Minelab X-terra will be like leaving your four door family car, and climbing into the seat of an Indy race car! You will need to relax, learn the basic settings, swing and learn. I think from personal experience, it should only take about 50-hours to become comfortable enought to start playing with it and tweaking it. Check out this video by Kevin Hoagland. I think it will help you!

Very well founded. You will NOT be disappointed. That is the choice machine for all my Law Enforcement Clients on the East coast. I have never heard a bad testimonial... One of my guys purchased the Gold package in Alaska, and he finds nuggets with his. The only difference between the 705 and the 705 Gold package are the coils. So if you ever get the urge to nugget hunt, the 705 has the capability to hunt Raw gold. All you would need is the Gold search coil. Not a bad option, I would say! I think it is a great machine, and I foresee it taking off as a big seller in the near future.

Good Choice

Mike

When I had the ace, I too upgraded to the xterra, and it is such a huge jump in quality it isn't even funny, it gets way more depth, way better separation, better on NOT being fooled on large iron like the ace is notorious for. I found 110 silver the first year I had my xterra 70....now I have the etrac and it was even a bigger jump.

i am former e-terra. thought i was getting a good detector but every target, yes every target, would jump up and down the scale no matter what it was or how deep it was.
