xterra 70 problem

My xterra 70 shuts off by itself and you turn it back on and comes on,etc. Any suggestions?

weak batteries? I haven't had any problems with mine.

The springs on the battery box are weak. You will need to call minelab. This happens to mine if while I'm digging a hole, it drops off my leg and hits the ground. I have since tethered it to my belt. In the future, I have read that it is important to gently slide the batteries in instead of letting them plunk into the spring.

I agree with vondrewvious .. do not tamper with especially it if you have a warranty call Minelab
