Yankee Jims road

I don’t know if it’s open but the self pay kiosk is shut down and has been for awhile. They usually setup a folding table in the summer on the weekends and collect the parking fee. I went down to Ponderosa bridge about two weeks ago and the Ranger was there for a few minutes and there were a few vehicles.

Did they gate Yankee Jim's Rd?

They've started a Northern California Mining History Facebook page.

And I've found a few articles on Yankee Jim's. I used to take my wooden sluice down there in the 70s and pull over 1/4ozt a day with just a home made wood sluice box. I had the old fake green grass astroturf for carpet, and 1/2 x 1" strips of wood cut in for riffles...

The road is open per blm office

The road is open and the bridge area had hikers and miners as of last Sunday. Color spotty.
