Yates Place in Uwharrie

Hello everyone, first time posting here. I enjoy hammock camping very much and in early March there is a hammock hang at Yates Place in Uwharrie NF. Best I can tell is the Dutchman creek is a short hike from where we will be camping. Does anyone have any info on how this creek is? A few of us will be doing a little panning just to pass some time.

To start Hello there Grubartez. I haven't been there only been to the Baldwin area of Uwharrie a couple of times (last week the last). I may go next sunday but most likely go for the whole weekend on the 25th if your interested (I either tent or stay in the back of my 4dr. Jeep when I go, since I'm an 1 1/2hr away).

Thanks for the invite, but we got something planned that weekend with the Boy Scouts. One of my co workers went over the Holidays and brought back 5 5gal buckets of material. He is bringing me a bucket to play around with and get the hang of panning. My son does pretty good at it but I have never tried it. I'm sure the bug will bite and bite hard. I need a good hobby to go along with my love of camping and hiking and this will fit in nicely.

Hey no problem. I plan on heading there about once a month for the weekend.
