Could be a preform, a work in progress, a discard or a blade by a unexperienced knapper. Still a cool find though. Here's a few pictures of a unfinished piece and a crude blade or a attempt at a point. I usually don't post these but I find them interesting.

Very cool. I like the oddballs. It's fun to sit and ponder them trying to figure out why they were made that way.
 

The flaking on that preform is interesting, there’s probably not enough passes to be sure but reminds me of the kind of flaking you’d see on a Cody complex piece
