Yesterday she was sitting, today she's walking!!

I didn't find a single silver Half Dollar last year and now I've gotten two in two days. Today I pulled this 1942 Walking Liberty Half Dollar out of an elementary school in Western Ohio. The coin was less than two inches deep and I sure ric'd the coin, but still happy about the find!! Funny thing is, this is my long work day and its going to be an 18 hour Sunday starting and I have to start Saturday evening just to finish at a decent time. So between stores I always drive by this school and decided to give it a quick 30 minutes. Three quarters and a Walker later I'm back to work. One good thing is I also drive by the house so stopped to post my find. Its nothing great, but recently for me these halves are hard to come by!!

I found a 42 Walker last month in a farm field. They're a nice hunk of silver. Congrats

Awesome Jack!

I don't think I've ever had a back to back silver half dollar days! :notworthy:
How do you figure the half was so shallow? Maybe the ground had been dug up/trenched at one time?

Wow, it's raining half dollars on the forum lately! There's so many posted I can barely keep up! :o :o

Congrats,

I have yet to find silver in the ground so I am living vicariously though everyone here. But that is one sweet coin though! Congrats!

I think it was possibly lost by a child who either brought it for show and tell or "borrowed it" from Dads collection!! I think this is a first for me too Dan, finding 2 silver Halves back to back!! I noticed alot of Halves in the last couple days and love every picture posted of them!!

Both your detectors are quite capable of finding them, so its just a matter of time before you find one and can't wait to see it when posted...maybe this year???

Ben doesn't like me very much, in 25 years of detecting I've found only two!!
