Ya just don't know when something awesome will happen - been in a bit of a slump, pennies - pennies - bottle caps - nails

Had the detector on, heading to the restroom at the county park, just walking on a path that connects 2 main paths - BIG beep! thought it was likely a can, but just wanted to dig something that wasn't iron, and it was pretty crisp.

Only a 1 1/2" down - but hard pounded path took some chipping away -

Yep, made my funny noises - 1944 s - well worn, but who cares!

Then working by the river, came across a cluster of bullets - the one without a ring, hollowed out a bit at the base - why would these be in a foot square area?

My park across the street gives up it's treasures in it's own time -

Great find!!! Love those Walkers! Welcome to the club!

Congrats on your first Walker!

Love it! Great find! My first silver half was a Franklin, but the Walkers soon followed and they are beautiful. Way to go.

Congrats on the first, nice find

some day I hope to grab that babe by her gown and hold her ever so tight:-)

Thanks everyone for your kind comments - that area has been logged twice, turned into a private picnic/fishing/camping spot -now a county park. Who knows what/where the next find will be?

I bet you were shaking when you pulled that out of the plug. Man I can only hope to find one of those. Great job

Congrats. Really cool silver find.

Congrats on the Walker, , it is a beautiful coin.
The cluster of bullets you found is a "Bullet Spill "
They were probably dropped when the owner couldn't reload fast enough. Maybe a bear or hostile Indians??

Nice Big silver. Feels great on the hand right?!

A nice find on your first walker. And the condition does not kook bad at all. some of the ones I have unearthed have been in circulation much longer than that one.

Congratz! I love those Walkers!

When I was a kid in the 1950s, I felt like I was on top of the world if I had one of those halves in my pocket.

The walkers are beautiful coins. Congratulations finding that beauty.

Congrats on pulling a walker. Still looking for my 1st.
