I have these I found last year, they both look like old types. The smaller was in a field but far away from the normal campsite on the river, it was close to the hillsides on the edge of the river valley. About 1/4 mile+ from the river. It looks all rough like its fire poped all over but its the same texture everywhere.
The larger was in a small creek several miles from the desmoines river. It looks like older patina than most other creek finds. It has recent damage chips on the tip which shows a white with a bit of grey material (Burlington I guess) And I'm thinking a flute that didn't quite work out. I'm not real positive as to what grinding looks like but if I'm correct it looks like it has grinding up almost all the way on one side and all but an inch of the tip on the other side.
What do ya think?
