"Youthful Beauty" found in the forest today
With a title like that, I'll bet I can guess what everyone might be thinking
Let me explain.
After getting psyched up over all the finds from TNet members this morning,
I just had to get out outside and pay the forest preserve another visit. . . the one
where I found my two Liberty Nickels and Barber Dime earlier this month.
It was sunny, in the high-40's, an absolutely perfect afternoon for a hunt.
This afternoon, I hunted areas "less congested" with underbrush and was
pleasantly rewarded with a few "eyeball" finds that a detector would have missed.
It was a real treat not having the worry of ducking & dodging branches & thorns.
(As a side note to all MD'ers hunting the forest: ALWAYS wear eye protection)
Along with assorted pieces of bottle glass from the 30's thru 50's, I found an intact
6-oz CocaCola bottle and the skull of a (?). . . (which I thought was kind of cool).

OK, now the "Youthful Beauty" in the forest part. . .
(I know you're all waiting)
A "Pompeian Bloom" rouge & puff compact
that
I found imbedded in a stream bank (detector find).
I think this might be from the 1920's(?)

As soon as I can crack this case open, I'll post a pic.
Thanks for looking & HH!
