Hit the beach early this morning, and no one there but me and the birds.

Detected a few feet and my first find was what looked like a diamond earring. But the diamond was just too big to be real, and the mount didn't look like silver. Still, fun to find.

Detected for another hour and found a cheap chain, fishing hooks, many coins, a spoon, two zippers, and a golfball sized heavily encrusted object which the detector shows as being metal.

Not every day is a gold or silver day, but it is always a pleasure to be on the beach!

Bill

Hello GuerillaBill, got a loupe? Many times those are either stamped .925 or it may be gold plated .925. The stone is CZ, I'd bet. Here is a pile of 'em, along with a few others from the archives.

It near gives one a heart attack every time you scoop up the ice only to find it's of no real value, but it's still fun ain't it?
