well cold weather comin 4 sure.

ill be off to fla beaches 4 a good part of the time.

every time ive gone ive taken the etrac

i dont like to but i feel naked w/o it.

its the idea of cant leave it home just in case some land

hunting would come up some how.

but because its value is still high i hate leaving it in the car

i drive a geo metro hatchback and its mighty hard to

disguise the fact that theirs detectors in the car.

i worry someone might grab it on me.

so this yr im thinking of 4 machines

excal 2 water machine

surmaster 2 backup water machine

quattro beach n wet sand

silver umax w cleansweep if i gotta cover a lg area quickly

im thinking the quattro has enuf guts if somehow

there were land hunting to do i woulnt miss the etrac

and it could stay home where its safe.

what say you? the etrac really no beach wonder

Well, tomorrow the new Garrett AT will be out. Curious to hear from others how it does on the beach in the wet sand and surf!

Must be nice to head to Florida for the winter!! One day that will be me so. . just like you I am creating an arsenal of detectors to handle every situation I run into. My guess is that there will come a day the you wished you had the etrac and will be kicking your self all day cause you don't!

Why don't you make a false floor for the hatch back so no one sees what is inside instead??

I am a industrial machine technician and there is nothing like having the right tool for the job!! :icon_sunny:

Just need to further explain this to wifey :icon_scratch: <-(wifey)

Scrounger, I have a hatchback too. I take a couple of beach towels with me and cover the detector if I leave one in the car while I'm out hunting. It helps keep the detector cool. If you have one of those folding sunscreens I lay that across the detector too. Never had a problem but I understand your concern.

the false floor idea is a great idea.

except this car is too small. the detectors gotta criss cross

kinda on top of everything else. maybe tho this is be

cuz im always too lazy to take the shafts down.

im gonna measure and see.

the scoop cant be taken down however

but if im on beach im using it.

otherwise its back to the towels we already use.

the sunscreen things a good idea. thanks smudge.

may not get to spend as much time as i want there.

due to date conflicts w my house sitter. grrrrrr

yes. i too am waiting on that at pro. excitement tomorrow.

i dont mean i ordered one. just to find out how good it willb

ALSO I FIND IT HELPS ALOT 2 HAVE SO MANY MACHINES

THE WIFE DOESNT EVEN NOTICE A NEW ONE.

THEN U CAN SNEAK IN AS MANY AS U NEED ... :laughing9:

Scrounger, same theory works for handguns in keeping the wife at bay also. Once you start tacking on to the collection, she doesnt notice a new one !!!

You could get a long box with labels clearly showing of some non-stealable item.."Deluxe beach umbrella" "Garden fork/spade" etc and slip the detectors shaft into it to hide. You can then drop a towel over the coil if it sticks out.

Basically i just take one detector at a time.
