Hi:hello:

As refreshing snow fell lightly , I headed out to a near-by shoreline.

Chilly out there, but I like it that way....clean , fresh, "nippy " air to breathe in while hunting for treasures.

Did not find much ; a 1945 "wheatie" was the special coin find of the hunt.

Got an erratic , loud sound ; knew it was some kind of junk metal...... there was a surprise awaiting me.

I love finding strange items like this and then researching the origin.

Check out this nickel silver fork ( BARTH ) that got stuck in what appears to be iron mix.

Barth company ( 1868-1926, then it merged with Albert Pick) was a wholesale manufacturer of supplies for hotels, passenger trains, and ships.

Here's some pics

Where's the gold? ...next time :headbang:

Thanks for looking

Lorraine

Very cool... wonder what "steam line/steamer" or "cruise ship" sank nearby... Or someone threw it over board because the meal sucked. :)

Oh and as a possible clue... look for any ships carrying load/s of iron ore

Please send the recipe for the meatloaf and backed potatoes. I'll take mine with cleaned silverware.
Thanks...good clean up.
I trust that you are getting out a bit now that Hank is doing much better. Happy Holidays ahead.

Even though you didn't find anything worth a lot I too like finding the oddball items and researching them.

Glad you got out and did some detecting, Lorraine. I just can't seem to catch the time to go but hoping after our Christmas dinner at the church tomorrow, I can slip out for a few hours. I haven't patched my chest waders, but have to hit this spot before the water comes back up next week. HH. I got to go back to the house and cook until about 11:00 pm and then get up in the morning and finish up.
Praying that Hank is still doing great and wish both you the best.

Glad to see you're getting out. WTG

There's an interesting post of another site about " conglomerates ". I now bring them home if they have a good sound to see what's inside them. I've seen a couple pics with gold rings sticking out of them and always ( after seeing the pic ) wondered how many may have thrown rings back because they thought they were junk .
