Wet Sand Hunt...SAMSUNG GALAXY 5...UPDATE..1923 CANADIAN NICKEL.

Got in a four hour wet sand hunt on the negative low. Enough targets to keep me busy, with the best find being a Samsung Galaxy S5 phone. It was down a good 14 inches and when I got it out the screen was cracked where I hit it with the scoop. It had water in it and wont power on but was in mint condition before I cracked it...would have sold on E bay for $100 water damaged...looks like I might get $50 to $70 with it water damaged and cracked. On my last water hunt I got an I Phone 6. So after water hunting four years without a quality phone find, I get one on two hunts in a row...strange coincidences happen metal detecting.:dontknow:...good luck to everyone. UPDATE...Just discovered one of the coins is a 1923 Canadian nickel...nice little surprise.

Seems like they come all at once, I had never dug a grill in 7 years of water hunting until this winter..now I have three.

I'm hoping the phones will pick up also once I start my fresh drops beach's in July...

Cell phones sound like a electrical explosion on my excal when I come across them. The first one I dug up was a 4s apple iphone ,did the same thing cracked the glass. So now when I get that sound I run my hands in the sand to feel for it. They are very shallow in the sand . Most the time a fresh drop. The ones found in the water are toast. I have found 3 iphone 4s, 1 iphone 5s and my latest is a iphone 6 plus. All working. And many damaged and off brand phones. I have my best luck with phones early Sunday morning, Hitting the beach party spots from Saturday night drinking partys. Good luck Joe

Nice hunt for conditions lately but that quote hits home.... heck even with a magnifying lens hanging around my neck, until I get back to the car OR get something confirmed by some younger eyes.....I never know what I have half the time!

Keep swinging

Nice finds! Good days hunting! They say things come in threes, so keep hunting.

I found a phone that had been run over, screen cracked and it still worked! Returned it.
While I was having all kinds of trouble with my brand new one! Irony at work!
