Hey everyone, I was searching for some more info on this crash and came across this website. I live in Ashland, which is right by the crash site. Anyways, I wanted to share with you....My grandmother and father where at the site the day of the incident. They took with them a piece of the plane. I have a picture attached. My dad has some very interesting stories from that incident. I hope to hear from everybody soon.

Centralia is fine as long as you stay away from the spots you see Smoke, Cracks or Flames coming out the Ground.

and as long as your not seen with ATV's of any Kind, the Police are Very Friendly.

It Must have been the Era it happened.

There was no FAA it was C.A.B. Civil Aeronautic Board, who did the
Investigation.
Plus back then, not everyone was into turning things into Shrines.

Alot could be the area Also, as Coal and Strip Mining are the Backbone of the Economy here.
Anything that would Close off the Industry, even in a Small way
would have Caused a Major Uproar.

OF COURSE, If the bodies were unable to be recovered, things may have Been Different, But, maybe not, as Mines continued even when someone was unrecoverable.

I Personally would Like to at least see a Monument there, But ?
