Jug, what for?
I posted this also on the todays finds forum. Just thought I would share these with you fellow bottle diggers. The Privy was 6 feet deep. Pulled out a few keepers including this decent jug. What were these used for generally? How much could one of these fetch by chance. Not that I am going to sell it being that it is my first full jug. Thanks for the input. jgas

Re: Jug, what for?
'gas, it's difficult to say what was in the jug...chemicals, booze, food stuff, almost anything liquid. Hey, that little embossed flask, on my screen it looks citron colored. If so, its a killer.

Re: Jug, what for?
Hey guys thanks for the replies. Gleaner that flask is clear. The pic was taken in a shady spot so it looks a little suspect. It is clear though, but still a cool embossed bottle. Gotta look that one up on the net. I love the research aspect of finding a bottle in the ground and then getting info for it on the net. But sometimes ya get stumped. jgas

creeper, citron means lemon in French. In the glass world, citron is greenish yellow. Or yellowish green. If there is no hint of green, but it's yellow, its called yellow. Not to be confused with light amber. If there is a touch of green in yellow, its citron. If there is a touch of a yellow in green, its citron. Green. Yellow. Citron.

Re: Jug, what for?
Hammered: Yep I was talking about the jug. I did locate who sold these here in my town back in 1896. He was a wholesaler of Wines, Whiskey and Liquors. So that pretty much does it for that one. Great to see one come out completely whole.
Creeper: as far as the citron goes, you are correct. None of these were Citron. They are all clear with the exception of the amber stuff. Thanks for the replies. jgas
