Hi all, I found this bottle on the beach. It says "A" on one side and "J" on the other side. It is 7" tall. Offhand would anyone know anything about this bottle? There are no markings on the bottom. Thank you.

Steve

Can you post a close up pic of the base? Can't tell anything about the letters but the base will help date the bottle.

Nice bottle. These blob types are 2nd to 3rd quarter of the 19th century. I forget when they were most popular. Used to know stuff....

Nice little squat soda . I don't know what letters stand for but I think it dates to the 1870s.

Thanks for posting a pic of the base. At first I was thinking squat soda from the 1850s if it had been an iron pontil base. With the flat base and blob top, I'm thinking 1870s/1880s also. My cursory search for JA or AJ did not turn up anything. An unusual and pretty soda for sure.

Thanks for looking everyone. I appreciate it. It sure is a rush picking up an old bottle. Its like for a second being in the distant past.

Check with Tod von Mechow at sodasandbeers.com Might be listed there with some info. If not, he'd want to know about it.
