Maybe its because Im an eccentric... but I kinda like having gold and silver tucked away in a secret place. Not to mention keeping a couple a Grand in cash tucked away for that random day where the commies close the banks and steel all of our banked money.
This idea is part of where the first question started. What happens if (heaven forbid) you are killed out on the road someday, and your "secret place" suddenly becomes forever secret. How many people once did this, because the medium of exchange required physical goods? How many less people are doing it now (with the medium of exchange being paper or electrons)?
