First 2006 coins

Let's see who'll be the first to find a 2006 coin. The earliest I ever found one (yes, I keep track! ) was in 1980 when the first penny arrived on January 20th. I've come close to topping that (2001 was the 21st) but haven't done better in 25 years.

I doubt the first quarter (Nevada) will show that early since the launch ceremony will be Jan. 31st in Carson City.

If you find one really early you can report it to coin world and they publish it under the first reports catalog on state quarters.

According to a Yahoo article new nickels are being shipped today from the Mint to the Federal Reserve Banks across the country. Mint officials said to expect them in our pockets within four to six weeks.
