They don't make them like they used to

I don't know if its my imagination or not. But it seems to me that the quility of the halves has deteriated since about 1990. I can almost tell every time by looking at the reverse if a half is going to be pre 1990. I don't know if its the weakness of the strike or the quality of the metal, but in almost every case they seem thinner and more worn out than the older coins.

I agree with you completely there! I have always noticed that myself! It seems like the 1970s halves are very well struck... then in the 80s they drop a bit... and then in the 90s they just become pure junk.
