Yeah, that's a proof coin (San Fransico only made proof halves in 1979) and it is very much worth keeping!

I keep all my S mints. I would like to have at least one from every year. I'm up to 26 total from rolls since March. I imagine that their value would depend on how impaired they were. Also you might take into consideration that they only minted 3 million +/- a year compared to 20 to 40 million/year from the other mints.

I thought all s mints were proof. that make is one even better than I thought. ;D

I keep them there mishandled proofs and its neat to get a set from circulation even though they may not be worth much.
