Re: 1941S Large and small mint marks..who looks for 'em?

I have more than 2 rolls of '41's nic's and I believe I have several of the large S's but I'm not sure that I have found any from CRHing. Most of these nic's I've bought in the past with other nickel and coin lots. I found another '41's just a few days ago but it's a small s.

I've read that in 1941 the "Large S" mintmark was used for later dies and it is estimated that less than 10 dies were produced with with this style of mintmark.

Are those large '41S's worth a couple of a couple of bucks in avg cir cond.?

I've found 4. It's obviously more common than Cherrypicker's Guide suggests, but still a pretty tough find. I keep all those cool varieties out there that I come across.

I've found about 33 of the 1941-S large S nickel and I find about 1 large S for every 6-8 small S nickels on average.

* 1928-S large and small S (3 small, 1 large)
* 1941-S large and small S (22 small, 3 large)
* 1960 large and small date (2 small, many large) (D-mint many of both)
* 1970-S large and small date (1 small, many large)
* 1974-S large and small date (many of each) <-- not a commonly known variety

nickels
* 1941-S large and small S (33 large, many small...seems about 6-8 small for every large)
* 1934-D large and small D (1 small, 0 large)

dimes
* 1928-S large and small S (1 small, 0 large)
* 1934-D large and small D (none)
* 1941-S large and small S (none)

quarters
* 1928-S large and small S (none)
* 1941-S large and small S (none)

half dollars
* 1928-S large and small S (none)
* 1934-D large and small D (2 large, 0 small)
