My luck with halves have changed for the worst. A dime box yesterday gave up a 1941 Merc & 1950 Rosey. The nickel box I just searched produced my 4th Liberty V nickel dated 1902. Plus I got 2 Buffalos with readable dates of 1934 & 1935 & got another Silver War dated 1944D. Also, there were 26 old nickels dated from 1938 to 1959. So I'm having much better luck with other denominations of coins as silver halves are eluding me now. BTW, I now have over 100 lbs of copper cents. Copper is really plentiful as I'm averaging 28% copper per box. But searching cents is really tedious & time consuming.

Remember, time is of the essence & patience is a virtue.

Nice mix of nickels, V's are to hard find. I usually get a box of nickels or dimes to go with my halves so that at least I find something and then yesterday's box of halfs produced a few and my dimes and nickels both came up with nothing. If I find 1 war nickel or Buffalo per box, I'm happy so I'd say that yours was real good. Hope your luck changes with the halfs and keeps producing with the dimes and nickels.

Concerning copper, do you have a limit of how much copper you'll hoard?

I was thinking, one 5 gal bucket would've my limit. How much volume is a 100 lbs? Half a bucket? Nice nickles btw.

nice mix man, are you having issues getting half-solid 2012p nickel boxes from Garda? I used to hit nickels hard, once the banks changed carriers, garda nickels have been bad, I did 3 nickel boxes since, all 50%+ solid 2012p, one nearly 90% solid 2012p

Update: There was another roll in the box that I failed to see. And guess what was in it? Yes, another Buffalo dated 1936. Now what are the odds of finding 3 Buffalos all with readable dates with 3 dates in succession? Man I enjoy this hobby. It never ceases to amaze me. Not only is it the thrill of the hunt but the element of surprises that we often find.

i've stopped searching nickels since the switchover of coin providers, i just picked up another solid 2012p nickel box yesterday, it really sucks, I used to do 1 nickel box a week at minimum!
