Sleepy's Most Wanted (Roosevelt Dimes)

After having searched through $7,110 worth of dimes, I figured I'd get a Whitman Coin book (1946-1964 Dimes). I'm going to make it my goal to fill it by the end of the year! To the right is my "Most Wanted" List to help keep track of my progress. I want all of my finds to be from CRHing, so I won't be purchasing any of them. Here goes nothing!

Halfway Point Reached in the Search for Sleepy's Most Wanted

Friday Tried pushing the dime volume higher for the second straight day. Today was my highest volume of dimes yet with $1550 searched. I know I'm at the halfway point in terms of quantity, but I also understand that I still have quite a bit of work cut out for me in terms of the Category 1 finds. Dimes Box 1: skunk Box 2: 1964D(x2), 1954D // 24th Unique FDR in the 48 Coin Set Box 3: 1936 MERC, 1957D, 1961D, 1968 Canadian (Non-Ag), Israeli coin with a 1 on it Box 4: 1964D Box 5: skunk //All 2013P $280 MWR: 1964D $20 CWR: skunk

Made a cheat sheet of your category list for my own searches. I wish there was a category list for other denoms, too.

I made the categories myself just to make it easier for me to know where each coin stands. It's not a perfect system, but it works for me. All I did was throw the years and mints into excel and place the production value in the neighboring cells. Then I organized it from least to greatest. Once I had that, I just threw it in here and have been updating the list as I go along. HH Sleepy.

I was working on a Merc list last night. There are 77 in the set. The 1916S that I found yesterday ranks as the 30th most rare. That's officially my rarest Merc so far.

Well, today my wife and I are moving to a pretty big city for the summer. I found work there, so it's off to hunt new territory; although, I'm sure there's plenty of CRHing going on there already! I'm expecting a dip in volume until I get the area figured out a little. HH Sleepy

Big City Produces Big Find

Friday Got off work today at 2pm, so I was able to visit quite a few banks today. The perseverance this week paid off as Box 1 produced a Category 1 find! It was a good way to close out the month of May. Dimes Box 1: 1946S //First 'S' mint FDR! Box 2: skunk Box 3: 1961 10 centavos (Dom Rep)

Looks like it's 90% silver! Win! Thanks for pointing that one out, Thorne. I did some research and it looks like 2M were minted in 1961. A slabbed MS64 went for $10.50 on ebay. The one that looked closest to mine went for $4.72. Kind of a strange spread there, but whatever...Thanks.

Did the same for all of the other denoms. Great tool! I added the circulation ranges to the top of each column, too, to give myself a better idea of the rarity/commonality of each group. It's already come in very handy. Thanks for the inspiration and congrats on your first great finds in your new digs!
