Re: Cerulean's Harrowing Half Hunting History
Since I planned a branch visit ahead of time (to renew a CD), I also called ahead asking for the tellers to pool together all their halves, $2s and dollar coins for my anticipated arrival. I was told over the phone at that time that some fellow had visited the branch earlier that day and taken all of that stuff.
So I was surprised to be offered $2s and halves by the tellers (who recognize me there as that weird money guy) when I arrived. I explained that I didn't expect to find any and wasn't going to bother them, but it turns out they had some anyway.
I took all 15 rolls of halves home with me, along with a generous stack of Toms. Many of the halves sported a hint of red edge stripe on the reeding, and a few had blackened ears, both telltale signs of being somebody else's search rejects. However, I did find a 2002-P half.

Re: Cerulean's Harrowing Half Hunting History
Are you looking for the old $2 bills? I got $100 worth of consecutively numbered $2 bills a few years back for my neice's 2nd birthday, but they were Series 2003A.

Re: Cerulean's Harrowing Half Hunting History
Four rolls of halves from my usual Wachovia branch contained two 1967 JFK halves, my first silver strike in ten months. (Meanwhile, $100 in small dollars produced nothing of interest.)
Warning to other CRHers: To some tellers, "silver dollars" refers to Susan B Anthony dollars. Yuck.

240 halves in brown paper wrappers from my usual source bank yielded a 2002-D and a 2003-P, the first NIFC halves I've found since November.

No half dollars at the bank today, but I did get a few rolls of small dollars for spending. Hidden among them was a 2000-S Sacagawea PROOF!

I don't know how I've never spotted this before, but this is a pretty cool journal you got going on here.
