look like pieces of 8 or cobs but maybe are reproductions?????????

There are many fakes "reproductions" out there. many are made of lead or aluminum alloy but some are silver.
Law states that they be marked as such ie: C or copy. But many are out there that are not marked.
Your best bet is to take them to several coin shops to have them assessed.
Even a "fake" can be used to compare to a detector find to help identify the find.
