Wondering if anyone can help give a rough value for this coin even though its holed,I posted this in the "whats it worth section but did not get any feedback.
Congrats on your find and great deal! I have been looking for one of those for years for my type set and have yet to find an attractive one for a good price.
I believe that it is worth $150-200. However, make sure it is genuine because there are many fakes of this type, some better than others. I am in no way implying that your coin is fake, but I would always err on the side of caution. However, I strongly doubt that your coin is fake.
And make around $25-$30 if so pm me. I'm not trying to offend you but sight unseen that's the best I could do . I tend to be fond of certain holed coins. Davers
[ on top of the $50 you said you paid of course]
Thanks for all the info I really appreciate it, and sorry but I am not looking to sell.It is the only seated dollar I own and even with the hole it is a beauty to me. Keep your eyes peeled, this one is proof that you can get lucky once in a while.I went to a coin show recently and could not touch a seated in good condition for under $300.00....thanks for the offer though.I have only been collecting a few years but so far have never been able to part with any of my collection.
It looks like a fake to me. Is the coin real? It looks like a cast copy and also appears to have too much edge outside the denticles. Weigh it and deduct a very small amount for the hole and see if it's standard weight. You could also place it on the tip of your finger and hit it with a pen or pencil and see if it rings. It may not ring as well with the hole, but it should still ring.
I really don't think it is but everyone is entitled to their opinion.... will have pics of it on the scale in a few hours... I will take better pictures of it too, square to the camera and not angled.
