In early November last year a purchased a roll of barber halves from ebay (listing had 21 halves) for 175$. This was the first time I bought a roll of barber halves and knew nothing about the rare and semi-key years. I haven't got around to checking the dates till christmas time and when I did I found out I had a rare coin in the bunch. I had a 1915 plain in G to VG condition which is worth around 100$. I was so excited and couldn't believe that such a rare coin fell into my hands. Only 138,450 were minted. Has something like this ever happened to you? Does the coin look authentic? Thanks.

Nice score. I've had two really good experiences that were similar. One I bought a roll of Indian Heads for $37, listed as having 5 each from 00 - 09. As we're searching them my 8 year says "this one has an 'S' on it". Found a nice '08-S. Second was I bought a lot of 47 V nickels with really bad pictures. It looked like there was a F-12 1886 sitting in the middle of the lot. Took a stab and paid a bit for the lot and found a beautiful 1886. They came to me shipped loosely rattling around in an old band-aid tin.

image.jpg Really nice score Zach Attack! I am coin roll hunting right now and found a 1972 D error? Anyone know what I might have and does it have any numismatic value? Thanks (;

You should really start your own thread. Welcome and a question. What is it you specifically see? What is it you see?
