I'm still going through this Morgan collection I bought recently. I got ready to list this online and noticed that the date was a little screwy. It carries over to some of the stars as well. I don't think it's damage but I want to get a second opinion. I don't know if it's anything special but wanted to ask y'all before I do anything with it. Thanks!

Only thing I'm seeing is what looks like evidence of a previous cleaning.

IMHO, it appears that the Obverse Die was picking up some metal material from some previous coins struck and deposited material randomly on the date digits of your' coin. Sorry to say but I am pretty sure that have the extra material on the date digits, does not add any value to the coin but it is a Striking Error and no less.

Alright thanks. One day I'll find a good one! Until then, thanks for the help

How does the Mint Mark look? I always check Morgans for Repunched Mint Marks (RPMs), Over Mint Marks (OMMs), then start looking over the entire coin for Die Clashing, Counter Die Clashing and Doubled Die Doubling.
