Hello,

I am really a stamp guy, not a coin guy, but lately I've been getting into coins.

I am about to create a PCGS account just so I can submit three of these for grading.

2000-P SAC$1 Wounded Eagle
https://www.pcgs.com/coinfacts/coin/2000-p-sac-1-wounded-eagle/506153

In all of my reading, I can't figure out how much this is going to cost me? Is this a regular coin with a VAM ($38 fee) or is it a mint error ($65 fee)? Is there a way to tell the correct fee from the above coin page?

Here is the fee page at PCGS
https://www.pcgs.com/servicesandfees

Thanks for the info,
James

A follow-up on this.... I had a running conversation with PCGS support about having these coins graded. They insisted I had to pay the $65 mint error rate AND the $18 variety add-on fee to have them identified as wounded eagles. So I would be out $249 not counting membership, insurance and shipping fees! I couldn't figure out why this acknowledged die variant was considered an error, but whatever....

I've decided to have them graded via NGC which can cost as low as $22 + a $15 variety fee. Basically saves me at least $46 in fees per coin.

I know PCGS is "the grading service" for coins, but honestly, I don't feel that I will get that much of a premium from their grading when I go to resell.
