I know I'm not supposed to circumvent the language filter but, holy xxxxc!!.

That's outrageous, makes me glad I'm in a rural area and can buy straight from the farmer daily for a buck a dozen.
Thanks for sharing that Jeff...I'd like your post, but there ain't nothing to like about robbery.

Once in awhile I go with the Wife grocery shopping...INSANE prices..I don't see how people can afford this madness and eat right.I see the only way out is......raise and grow your own..you'll be surprised what you can grow in a 5 gallon bucket.

Can't grow eggs in a bucket though.:laughing7:

GOD Bless

Chris

I'm not a big Egg eater thankfully it's been 3 maybe more months since I bought a dozen,
But if this is a sign of things to come
I will be checking the farmers market and Amish stands along the roads,
next time I'm hungry for an Egg breakfast.

if that doesn't work,
I'll do without

Nope regular dozen Jumbo eggs

I like the Jumbo because Large here look like Pigeon eggs

and Jumbo's sometimes have Twin Yolks.

I'm actually tempted to take the Receipt along next time & ask if it's an Error,
if the price on their cooler is normal :laughing7:

A dozen jumbo eggs here are $2.28, a half gallon of whole milk is $2.70...

Your paying premium price for living in the north, prices are lower down here in south....

I think Bread is about 80 cents a loaf at Aldies.
couple years ago it was .38 & occasionally 4 for a $1.00
not any more :(

Redner's $1.08 I think for loaf of bread.
wouldn't surprise me if all went up.

Quart of Milk cost me $1.16
was .99 last I remember looking.

My Last Dozen Eggs were somewhere between $1.48 & $1.89 I'm sure.

may have something to do with scalping the Holliday Bakers

for the most part I shop once a month.
I think my record is 3 Months without needing to hit the Bucher Shop.

the exceptions,

things that won't last that long because they can't be frozen,
or run out at the most inopportune times

Where I'm at, You can buy the whole chicken at the flea market. They stuff it in a bag! You take it home and kill it yourself! lol

I'm not making a joke either! Ducks, chickens, goats. It was different to me. Where I came from they didn't have flea markets like that. It's actually kind of cool.

I can relate to those flea markets...not around here though!

I have one Flea / farmers Market Near me Orwigsburg.
only animals I remember were Colored peeps & Rabbits around Easter till the nuts
had fits that the die may be poison & also that kids would take them home,
and loose interest in them a week later & let them die .
so that was outlawed :( I think there is a Pet shop there now if you wanna buy something
live to butcher, dogs, cats, gunia pigs, snakes, Birds, fish etc..
I haven't been to that one in years. Too Big

& one partially Amish Farmers Market in Gratz.
I never seen live animals there either, but being all the Amish
there any farm animal could be bought if you asked around I'm sure

2.99 at 7-11 for a gallon of good country fresh milk, you would think they would be highest for a convience store. Nope same brand at Walmart is 5$ per gallon...that's criminal. Of course great value milk is I think 2.49.

Mike

Gallon of Great Value milk at Walmart here is $4.30, $3.99 at Drugstores here, 7-11are high...

Thats funny ...i mean the smaller farmers that are left makes very little profit from his products, compared to cost of running the farm..... middle man makes out really well the for little work

I agree with that Gary! Some of my farmer neighbors tell me about that often, often the milk wholesale per pound price drops so low, the manure sells higher than the milk does..that's true to. What's worse now is the tax they pay for the cow farts...methane emissions..bleh.
