Rusty,

You'll have all the young gals drooling over you come summer....:laughing7::laughing7::laughing7:

It's not so much that, as is the fact that I have seen the state of my county and to be frank, my country, and the last thing I want to be is obese. Now you won't see me chugging down green smoothies and cutting spaghetti out yet, but while I'm young and in shape, I might as well march those 20 miles. The gals are an added benefit to being healthy. :laughing7:

I've been reading Sam R. Watkins book, Company Atych or a Side show of the Big show lately. It is a memoir written by Sam as a soldier from the first Tennessee Infantry regiment, who fought in battles from Shiloh, to Nashville, and many fierce battles in between.

In one section of the book, he tells a story about how the regiment made an attack on Berkeley Springs West Virginia, and charged down off a steep mountain side overlooking the town below. After they ran the federals off, they found the hot springs located in the center of town. They were mystified by them because the water was hot in the middle of winter, so they all took turns stripping down and taking a bath in the hot water. He also made mention that "were you to ask any member of the 1st Tennessee who was the prettiest woman you ever saw, they would tell you of the young lady at Berkeley Springs". Apparently she came walking past, and there was a mad scramble for clothes. Back when men had decency!

Reading this part of the book was really nostalgic because I used to live there. I soaked in those very hot springs as well (clothed), and walked on the mountainside that they were on. I know the area like the back of my hand, and it really made me miss it when he wrote about how beautiful it was there, and how the springs were.

Side note: When George Washington was a young man surveying the country, he often visited those springs as well in the town. There is a section of the hot springs known as "George Washington Bathtub" which was supposedly a favorite haunt of his in his younger days.

Good for you! But...enjoy it as long as you can. For, as soon as you get your license? You begin to grow up and grow outta that. :tongue3:

I only get my hair cut once a year. Last time I got it it cut cost $8 at a flea market, so I tipped her three bucks.

I spend the savings from only getting a cut once a year on Blatz beer, so you will know me if you see me coming. Long hair, wild beard, stumbling drunk, and mumbling about blue wing teal... :laughing7:

This guy in the video is gonna get bit if he keeps it up....
I don't know what type the trio of ducks were in the dark pic about twenty seconds in that flew past , but he'd have missed them too probably...

Yes and no. The full time job that I want to get requires you to be in tip-top shape, so I may as well start now. One of the requirements of the job is to be able to lift objects in excess of 80 lbs. routinely, and I can do that no problem.

Good afternoon everyone.

I spent a day at a friends house, and we walked over 20 miles and didn't find a single deer antler. Bummer. But I did end up finding a potential metal detecting site. There is nothing but woods in t area, then all of a sudden there are thousands of daffodils all concentrated in one spot. In the midst of that spot was a "wall" of rocks and a pile of enameled cookware. I left it all there for next time.

20 miles a day, 100 push ups in two minutes, 50+- sit-ups in two minutes and ten pull ups a day, I'm on my way to lookin' good this summer :laughing7:

Dang Rusty... I haven't tried for two minutes but last I checked I could only do 35-40 push ups in one. 100 is quite a bit! I think I can do 30 or so sit-ups in a minute but I can't remember.

Good morning to the whole gang. Was talking with an old buddy last night and reminiscing we've known each other since the late 60's.

Traveled to Barbados in the 1970's on vacation among other foolishness....great to share old times during this crazy year we've all been living.

Morning pirates and piratesses.

Been busy working on the shed.

Son-in-law contracted covid from coworker last weekend. He just had massive headaches. Then daughter came down with it. She had body aches, stomach issues, then her lungs hurt and her oxygen levels tanked. She had to get X-rays to make sure she didn’t have pneumonia. She was clear. She’s still having issues with oxygen levels and off and on delirium. So far the two boys haven’t got it. It’s kind of ironic because they have been the ones taking the most extreme measures to not get it. There’s been talk about blood types playing a role. Well, he’s type O+ and she’s A-. I am A-, so now I’m kicking around the idea of getting vaccinated. If I could pick which one, I would be willing.

My daughter has been my barber and she stopped cutting hair right from the get go. So, I can relate to the long hair. I trimmed mine last spring but that’s it. It’s the longest it’s been since I was a kid.

I took my dad to the big grocery store. He was like a kid in the candy store.

Time to work on the shed.

Have a great day everyone!

Morning WD

Sorry to hear about the family coming down with the Virus-not a good thing. The drop in oxygen levels is not a good thing for anyone, and can really put one rump in the chair quickly-so to speak.
I bought a oxygen meter a few years back on the recommendation from the specialist, and take a reading when I feel down-amazing thin is just a drop of 5 points is enough to feel crappy.

Best of luck on the family's health, and your siding project. It must be getting to be crunch time -lookin at the deadline of finish vs retire coming up fast.

Morning Bill

Good to hear you still keep in touch with your buddy's.

I was trying to find a contact of an old friend/customer from the business days.
Finally a funny little reference popped into my head on what he used to call himself when a plan came together for a scrap/demolition contract.
Amazing I Googled it and there he was on this Instagram platform-:icon_scratch:
We connected and it's good start again.
