Wow, Looks like nothing going on? Anybody out there.

Its been cold, nasty, and wet so far this winter. Getting cabin fever already. The events calendar is empty. My wife and I enjoy camping, backpacking, hiking, MD'ing, geocacheing, or sitting around a camp fire shooting the bull. Were retired military living around the north Central florida area. Anyone have some suggestions of great places places to explore, camp, hike, backpack, MD. or meet up?

I'm down in Saint Petersburg, across the Bay from Tampa. I used to go camping up in Ocala back when I was a kid... it's beautiful out there, and from what I've found out lately, there was Civil War activity (a massacre by indians to be exact)

Agree... but I'm not sure if I'll be able to now, since we've waited so late. My college classes start the Monday, January 11th... which is right after my vacation from work ends. Between school & work, the only time I may have would be on the weekends, more than likely.
