Waited for Gold at the Thift Store, got it stolen instead

I'll try one last time. Thrift stores are in business to maximize income. Some Thrifts are for profit places, others are non-profit, some are public companies, & others are individually owned. In any case it's in their best interest to sell items for the highest amount possible. If that means selling to a specialist, on ebay, or through some other outlet they will do so.

The policies you keep referring to are in place to keep employees/managers from under pricing items to sell to themselves or their family friends. Those policies have absolutely NOTHING to do with insuring that every item ends up on the shelves so shoppers can get a deal.....they are designed to keep the store from being cheated.

Stores such as goodwill do not sell items at discount prices to help people out. They are in the business of making money and using that money to offer job training.

Everyone has this BIG misconception that when they donate to these stores. It helps a needy family. And that is not the case at all.

The money from the stores goes to programs to help people get jobs. So every store is looking to
Maximize their sales and could care less if you don't have the money to purchase new items

All the goodwill stores in the pittsburgh are do not sell jewlery at all anymore because of the money they were losing. It all goes to one location where it is tested then listed for auction on their website

.. I am like you i do not do thrift stores …yard sales yes … I hate to even touch some of the things in thrift stores ….. i might stop in once or twice a year why i do not know … I guess i forget but when i do i have my hand sanitizer with me and after i touch any thing i use that sanitizer right away..
