First off you guys are right I can't go away forever. You are the only friends I have!!!
So I got a phone call I got today and I bought this. It is a 1895 Gorham Chantilly service for 8 + some serving pieces. This one I'm not sure what it's for but I forked out $900 for it. I really like it! I'm pretty sure I should get my money back out of it. The box was not part of it just something for me to store it in for now.

Great find and a high end name!

In today's $15 range, and in a set like this, what do you think it is worth in "Scrap"???....

Keeping all the Sterling you find, you'll have quite a "rainy day" fund. I read where one of the finance companies, Morgan/Chase if I remember, has purchased so many hundreds of thousands of ounces of silver, that if silver went up just $10, they would make 3.2 BILLION dollars!!

That's insane amount of silver. Unfortunately I'm not in much of a position to keep everything I come across. To be honest I don't know if I even want to keep everything I come across. Gold coins, of course! But that silverware sets probably going to get sold. $900 is a lot of money to have wrapped up in one thing to save at least for me having little kids and all.

Weight was about 1700 grams without the silver handle items as well.

I got a couple pieces of the Chantilly set his week also. A cream ladle sold in a day for $35. I would say you will easily get your money back....and I knew you couldn't stay away!

This sold today for $1600! Less then $1.00 per gram, but needed to get something out of it. Kinda wanted to keep it. Which is a bad habit but somebody bought it so time to find the next one!
