Hello Everyone,
Does anyone here have any experience using an ACE 250 for hunting at the beach in either dry sand or wet sand? I am considering an ACE 250 but most of my hunting will be at the beach. Is the search coil water proof? I do not plan to get the whole thing wet but, I probably will be in water that is ankle to knee deep.
Any comments, suggestions, or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Mike

The Garrett's don't like salt water. The coil is water proof but the mineralization of the salt water gives the detector problems. Fresh water is cool though. HH

Dry sand my ACE250 worked fine (found an 1862 British penny I do not think it was in the sand that long ) But when the sand turned wet it sounded like a pinball machine. I have since upgraded to the AT-PRO

Wet sand will give it a fit...you will have to turn the sensitivty down so low to stop falsing that you will get very little depth...dry sand it will work great.
