I've seen them. I will have no issues using mine in water, no one is going to use it underwater for hours....

Agreed, however, some actually do wear a mask and snorkel to search the bottom of lakes and rivers. Some areas have bedrock exposed and doing a visual check on the bottom is often times faster then trying to insert the tip of your water scoop into the hard bedrock to try and retrieve the target, not to mention the damage to the edge of your scoop. Not everyone is blessed with bodies of water with a nice sandy bottom.

I know what you mean John, but if your going to be searching the bottoms of lakes and rivers you better buy a pin pointer rated in multi meters instead of a couple feet. Right tool for the situation...
