Silvermark?

Saw what I can only describe as a miniature flower pot type thing today in the thrift store. It looked like it was old tarnished silver but even more gray than usual. It was only a few inches tall by an inch or two wide. On the bottom was a stamp of a cowboy/prospector's face, the letters K.S. and a symbol to the right of that that resembled the @ symbol. Under that was 1519.

Anyone have any thoughts. I didn't buy it ($3.00) and am trying to figure out if I should go back and get it.

That's kind of what I was thinking. Also, I can't imagine anyone going throught the trouble of stamping unless it was silver. Wish I knew of a test tp check for silver.

Hmmm... what to do what to do.
