When a club holds seeded hunts, are there prizes awarded for the highest number of coins, or for the biggest dollar amount found? I realize there are usually tokens that are hidden as well with prizes being awarded for finding them, but was wondering about the coins.

In most cases, yes to both.

Some clubs let you keep your finds, and some ask you to exchange them for prizes and awards, so they can reuse them again on later hunts.

Our club hunts, one in spring and one in fall, are all finders keepers. We do have tokens buried for prizes as well. Last year I paid $25 on each hunt and sold my silver finds at the end of the year for about $300 to invest in other metal detecting items. Our prizes that are given away could be metal detectors, gift cards, White's and Minelab prizes and much more.
