7 years ago or so I believe I used terra server as a map overlay for google earth. Doesn't seem to work any longer. Anything new that will help me? Any good free websites for old maps that are easily overlayed with google? Looking for Maryland and Pennsylvania mostly.

That takes you to the main site but what do you do once you're in there?
If you go to Browse, then select the Continent, scroll down to the bottom and select your state. From there you can do a search for any number of historic maps. Best to do a search with atlas, county and city selected in the check boxes and also a date range, I usually go for a 20 year span, 1900 to 1920. Once you find and select the map, click on historic earth free and it will overlay the map on google maps.

I've been able to overlay almost all maps on Google Earth. I save them on Google Earth. One thing you need to keep in mind tho...whereever you have the map saved on your puter to overlay to google earth...don't move it!!! You'll lose your saved Google Earth overlay and just get a box with a big red square in it.
