To Cover or not to Cover?

I was wondering if I need to buy a coil cover for my ACE 250, and does it cut down the detection depth?

    thanks

You won't lose any depth at all. I destroyed my 250 coil by banging it against rocks. It was chipped so back that you could see wire. I wrapped my new coil in strips of inner tube, duct taped on. It aint pretty, but it works.

My Detector guy says always get one......basically for the same reasons above....it will wear.
Is it a Jacket on or Jacket off day?

    AO,

Be safe, buy a cover. Not that much of
an expense and protects your machine.

"does it cut down the detection depth?"
Do you think anything you place between your
coil and the ground cuts down on depth?
I think so, but it is minimal with a cover.

    have a good un..............

In the academies many books, at the circus many sacks of peanuts, at the club rooms many cigar butts.

Yup, wrap that rascal! Covers are cheap protection. Just make sure that you take it off from time to time and clean your coil. If water gets in between the two, it can get moldy and start to smell bad. Don't ask me how I know this...

Always...always use a coil cover...I went through about 4 or 5 with my Shite's Spectrum and I've had that detector for 16 years and it still works great,

I took everyones advice and purchased a cover and have been using it for a day or so.....doesn't effect depth at all and works great.....attaches really tight.

    thanks again

Just Remember, Take it off & clean it out every once in awhile.

If used in Salt water, Wash it Every Night, (when salt water Dries,
    it could leave a film)

no matter how tight or even if sealed with Glue. Something will Eventually work its way in. Guaranteed.

It's still the best investment you made.
