No, the us gov't makes too much money off us collectors. You think they would still be making all these state quarters and jefferson series nickles if there weren't thousands and thousands of other like me that are dumb enough order them direct from the mint (at higher than face value)?

The Problem, If you pay one cent and make 2 cents off it.
your making a profit.

If they sell that one cent to you for $20.00 their happy.

this way they can slowly Sneak all the copper out of Circulation first.
then repeal the law, or just melt it in private.
You can't arrest the Government.

I wonder if Canada spends as much on their Pennies as the U.S. does. They were made of the same metals not to long ago.

No, but, you can sue it....sounds like a pre-profiteering strategy to me.
